Top 10 Features Available in Windows 11

The most recent version of Windows 11 has a variety of features. These include focus sessions, Microsoft Team integration, smart app control, and Microsoft Store. One of their best features is multitasking, enabling the user to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.

1. Smart App Control

Windows 11 includes a new feature called Smart App Control, which helps you control which apps get installed on your computer. This feature is currently available on Insider builds but will soon be rolled out to stable builds. For now, however, you can’t turn it off.

It can also block malicious applications. However, this feature is only active if your system recently upgraded to Windows 11.

2. Multitasking

Microsoft has finally introduced a new version of its multitasking feature, called task view. With this new feature, you can add as many desktops as you want. Task View is fluid and easy to use, and it’s another sign that Microsoft has taken a mobile-first approach to its next-generation desktop OS.

Microsoft’s Widgets are also worth a look, letting you find information with a click. These new features resemble Apple’s Today View and Google Assistant’s Snapshot.

Another cool feature of Windows 11 is its new multitasking menu. You can view six different grid layouts and window configurations. And you can use the same layouts on multiple monitors. Snap Layouts has the ability to save screen layouts as projects.

It helps divide the screen between applications and makes multitasking easier. Moreover, you can also use snap groups to group multiple windows according to their layout. You can minimize or maximize the windows using just one click.

5. Inking Directly Into Text Boxes

Windows Inking is a new way to write and draw in emails. It is available on touch-enabled PCs and other devices with input capabilities, including the mouse. Microsoft has even published new tutorials to teach you how to use this new feature.

You can access the feature by selecting the “Draw” option in the new mailbox or message screen. After you’ve opened the email, you can draw as you normally would.

Microsoft Edge and Microsoft Ink are two different software packages that enable using pen gestures with Microsoft Word. These two applications enable you to draw shapes like circles, arrows, and other objects directly into text boxes. To use the Ink feature, you must enable the InkToShape option in Settings.

6. Quick Settings Menu

One of the most notable features of Windows 11 is the addition of a quick settings menu. It allows you to access various system settings, including the clock, volume control, and microphone.

You can also customize your Quick Settings with the help of settings options. You can use the “Add” button to customize the Quick Settings menu. Once you click on this button, it will list all available settings. Click on one and press ‘OK’ to add it to the panel.

You can also expand the Quick Settings menu by clicking or dragging the selected setting to the desired location.

The Quick Settings menu is located in the lower-right corner of the screen. It includes options you often use, such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. Quick Settings also allows you to rearrange the options on your screen for a better user experience.

You can also access it by pressing the volume icon on your desktop PC, your laptop’s battery, and your phone’s network icon. You can customize the settings of the Quick Settings panel according to your preferences and requirements.

7. Microsoft Store

One cool feature of Windows 11 is the Microsoft Store. Microsoft has added a large banner on the front page of the Store, so you’ll have easy access to all the items you’ve downloaded. The home page also has a carousel of highlighted items and a progress bar to show you when the next one appears.

You can easily navigate the store by category or search for an item by name.

Once you’ve installed the store, you’ll need to update it. To do this, go to the Microsoft Store homepage and then click the three-dot menu in the lower-left corner of the screen.

After that, click on Downloads and updates. If the problem persists, try restarting the computer. This will clear up the data and give the Microsoft Store a fresh start. 

8. Focus Sessions

You can use Windows 11’s focus sessions to set up short periods of concentrated work. The system lets you set up five-minute breaks to help you stay focused on a specific task. You can set the length of each break from 5 to 60 minutes or skip them altogether.

If you are having trouble staying focused, you may want to set up focus sessions so you can start and stop the program when you need to.

9. OneDrive Integration

OneDrive integration is available for some Windows users and has a lot of useful functionality. It streamlines your workflow, especially for hybrid workers, since you can store all your files on the cloud.

As of the time of writing, this feature is rolling out to members of the Windows Insider program. It isn’t available to the general public yet, but it is something to look forward to.

10. Floating Start Menu

One way to fix the floating Start menu in Windows 11 is to change the settings in the registry. The Start_ShowClassicMode key can be set to 1 or 0 to enable the floating Start menu. To remove the floating Start menu, delete the setting.

Afterward, restart your device to regain its default state. After restarting, the Start menu will be displayed on the right-hand side of the Taskbar.
