Windows Safe mode is a way to use your computer in the most basic state. You can only use and access the most basic Windows features during the safe mode.

In this mode, only a minimal file and folders are accessible to the user. Starting the Windows in safe mode helps you troubleshoot the problems on your computer. 

In the safe mood of your Windows Operating system, you won’t be able to access or use most of the window’s features. Some of these inaccessible features include restrictions to the hearing option or access to sound or audio, the inability to print documents, etc.

• Starting the safe mode in windows by Pressing the F8 key:

  • Now from the ‘Advanced boot option’ menu, select ‘Safe Mode’.

Note that if the Boot options menu doesn’t appear as per the instruction stated above, then it is more likely that you have not pressed F8 enough times. In such cases, try turning off your computer again.

2. Now Hold the Shift key, while clicking the Restart button from shout down or the sign-out menu.
3. Now, your computer will restart.
4. After that your PC restarts, a ‘choose an option’ screen will appear.
5. Now select Troubleshoot (followed by) > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart.
6. Now after your PC restarts again, you will be shown with a window prompt option to select 4 or press F4 to enter safe mode, while Press 5 or F5 to enter the safe mode network.

Follow the given steps to start the safe mode option through the list of setting options on your Windows 10 PC. Below mentioned steps are to reboot in safe mode by using the login screen option. This step is similar to the steps discussed in the how to enter safe mode through pressing the combination keys of the Shift key and the restart key.

1. First of all, restart your PC to follow the steps to boot up in safe mode.
2. After the windows OS starts, now click the sign-in screen option.
3. Now hold the Shift key and click the power button. Now from the power button menu, click ‘Restart’.
4. After that your PC restarts, a ‘choose an option’ screen will appear.
5. Now select Troubleshoot (followed by) > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart.
6. Now after your PC restarts again, you will be shown with a window prompt option to select 4 or press F4 to enter safe mode, while Press 5 or F5 to enter the safe mode network.

Exit the safe mode option, the black screen option:

The Black screen is not an option to enter safe mode in windows. But sometimes, existing from a safe mode can be a little tricky. And that is where this step comes to the rescue.

How to enable the F8 key in windows 10?

Though Windows 7 comes with an automatic key to F8, that maybe pressed without any concern. Most of the Windows 10 OS don’t have a direct access to the F8 key. 1. Click the Windows start menu and type ‘cmd’, then click ‘Run as administrator option’ from the menu.
